MCT-Multi-finger Caliper Tool

The Multi-finger Caliper Tool (60-finger) is a mechanical tool for well diameter measurement. It is mainly composed of measuring fingers, driver rod and inductive sensors. Each finger is independently connected with a sensor, which transforms radial change of casing inner wall damage to longitudinal change during moving and the well diameter is thus measured.

The tool is combinable with electromagnetic inspection tools and Gyro tool for comprehensive evaluation and interpretation to realize 3D presentation.

The Multi-finger Caliper Tool (40-finger) is a mechanical tool for well diameter measurement. It is mainly composed of measuring fingers, driver rod and inductive sensors. The sensing section consists of 40 displacement sensors, which are uniformly distributed on the outer circumference, with each sensor able to measure the slightest variation in diameter. The tool also includes an inclination sensor and a rotation sensor.

The interpretation software is available for presenting the actual condition of the inner wall in a three-dimensional view, and the engineering data of casing are calculated and recorded.

The Multi-finger Caliper Tool (60-finger) can be configured with extended arm assemblies, increasing the logging range as wide as 8-14”, 9-17”, and 14.5-21”.

The 24-finger caliper (MCT58) can accurately measure casing ID and three dimensionally present corrosion and scale deposition of casing inner wall, as well as perforation condition. It is typically coupled below the telemetry cartridge or memory cartridge to transmit data back to the surface. The communication format is WSTbus and it is H2S resistant.
